I've been running gdcparties.com for a few years now. Some shitty company BlueberryAI decided they'd just take all the source code for the work I've done and reskin it, advertising it as their own. Jokes on them...it was still linked to my events spreadsheet, and now their website looks like this ๐Ÿ˜‰

Demonschool does this... kinda! Our backgrounds ARE full 3D, but for most of the overworld gameplay, we have a fixed camera angle... if there are no moving lights, we can cache the world to a texture and treat the whole world as an impostor, essentially doing runtime 'pre-rendering' i guess.

You'll get different definitions at different studios but here's mine: a person who helps individual contributors (ICs) and leads work with each other to make workflows better/easier/[Radiohead voice] more productive. They should be like oil: reducing friction and energy required to get things done.

Keep thinking about this term "pre-digested" that Kojima used to describe art that's instantly gratifying. And how it's better when people grow to love something instead.

I've gravitated, as player and designer, toward the latter, but that term "pre-digested" is new and feels very strong.
