Note that Gavin Newsom's main objection to a state wealth tax is "billionaires will go to another state"--an objection that is solved by having a national wealth tax. Remember this when Newsom comes out against a national wealth tax when he runs for president.

“Cover the American government the same as foreign governments” is the final frontier of journalistic objectivity and one that has never been approached by the outlets most fond of declaring themselves to be objective.
It’s interesting to observe that when a US president, no matter how evil, dies, the journalistic convention is to strike a somber and respectful tone of loss, but when a foreign leader is killed by us it can be played purely as a story of geostrategy with no obligatory pseudo-sadness whatsoever.
