A kind, gentle & stylish man walking away from the photographer through an alpine meadow in late summer or early fall. Blue sky; rolling grassy brown ridges; scrubby green high-level trees. Old enough to remember the grifting far right-wing pitch that Trump, unlike Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rice etc, wouldn't further entangle the country in international wars-of-choice, regime change, etc.

AS ALWAYS, the denial both an admission & a promise.

Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace.

Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.

The eagle's attack was rendered less effective by the several dozen crows mobbing it, which was also what alerted us that an attack was ongoing.

From the NYTimes: "The administration has not provided Congress and the American people with critical details about the scope and immediacy of the threat," Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, said in a statement on Saturday. He called for Congress to "quickly return to session and reassert its constitutional duty" by passing legislation to curtail the military campaign against Iran.

What Chuck seems to lack the clarity or courage to say:

• Only Congress can declare war

• Congress did not declare war on Iran

• This war is illegal

• Wars of aggression are considered to be "supreme international crimes" by the International Criminal Court. The phrase was coined at Nuremberg.

Caught making a 'set of lies,' Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim offers no answers Sim is refusing to explain why and how he came to falsely accuse a rival politician of handing out illegal drugs.

"If Sim wanted to let...voters know that Orr and COPE aren’t for them, the mayor could have described the councillor’s public positions and statements honestly, without spreading a very specific and demonstrably false story."

Elected officials who unthinkingly repeat misinformation fed to them by flattering tech. The Orr stuff is probably just the tip of the compromised iceberg.

Worth noting that on a different website, multiple ABC Vancouver officials follow accounts that post constantly about how Sean Orr is a terrible human being and make all sorts of unproven claims, including one account that creates AI videos of Orr doing all sorts of illegal or evil acts

The letters arrived today. Not last week, not two weeks ago when it was passed or a week ago after the veto was overridden. They arrived the night before the changes were live so no one could do anything about it, just to rub it in and be able to say they’d given notice.

The extraordinary thing is that as came up multiple times during the vote, if you applied to change your marker back the moment this bill was signed, you still wouldn’t have had enough time to comply. The sponsor’s response was that people should have considered it before when changing markers.

Of course isn’t just driving. It’s voting. Working. Travelling. Picking up a package. Applying for credit. Applying for a job. Renting a room. Filling prescriptions. Visiting loved ones in the hospital. Not expired either, but legally invalid.

As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. It’s often said you never know when you’re living through history, so let me assure you: that’s what’s happening now.
