The Trump administration took your money illegally.
They won’t give it back.
At a minimum, this should open up the spigots of US support to Ukraine so Russia loses the war it caused.
This is not good.
If you care about free and fair election this November, this is the most important story of the day. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Atmospheric CO2 concentration graphed from 1957 to present, showing a continuous increase to current 429 parts per million. The annual natural cycle of slight ups and downs can also be seen. Measurements are taken hourly at the top of Mauna Loa, Hawaii
The latest update from the Mauna Loa CO2 observatory, shows current #carbondioxide concentrations continue to accelerate upward. The latest reading? 429.1 parts per million. Pre-industrial concentrations were under 280 ppm.

What's next for the Iran war? For The Current, four Brookings experts discuss the evolving conflict and its implications for the country, the Middle East, and international security.
Weird how this keeps happening! www.miamiherald.com/news/politic...
Raskin: “Based on what you know today, were Renée Good and Alex Pretti domestic terrorists?”
Noem: “There's ongoing investigations…I would think you would want there to still be investigations going into these situations.”
Raskin: “You stated [your] conclusion 2 hours after they were killed."
REPORTER: Yesterday you told us Israel was going to strike Iran and that's why we needed to get involved. But today the president said Iran--
RUBIO: No. Were you there yesterday?
REPORTER: Yes. I asked the question
Keep hearing commentators/Hegseth saying a version of "this is not Iraq, we are not doing nation-building, it's a decapitation, the people will handle it."
That's what Iraq 2003 was supposed to be! Nation-building, de-Baathification, disbanding of Iraqi army, it all came *after* things went wrong.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said there are still roughly 650 federal agents in Minnesota after the administration announced Operation Metro Surge was winding down.
Thanks Ken!
This by @jimgoldgeier.bsky.social is really good (and still relevant even though from 2018)

A new month begins. Will it bring increased optimism?
Mixed messages so far, but with another Russian ally having some "local problems" in Tehran, another supply line may be cut, increasing the chances of Moscow having to cut a deal with Ukraine.
Day 1467 - this is the daily🧵
Up is down is up
It’s insane this is legal. People around Trump are profiting off war and death. I’m introducing legislation ASAP to ban this.
The real story is that foreign govts try to "interfere" all the time. In 2020 and 2024 we had mechanisms to catch them, call them out, & mitigate damage. Now, those mechanims are gone & the Trump admin would prefer to exploit "foreign interference" to justify a federal take-over of elections.
Looks like Iran has decided on three types of targets: US military bases in the region (Bahrain & others), oil infrastructure (eastern Saudi Arabia) and, perhaps most escalatory of all, densely populated urban areas to maximise economic and political impact (Dubai).
Still up on the official White House website:
www.whitehouse.gov/articles/202...
Ru repeats that "all objectives of the special military operation will be achieved". This is totally different and incompatible w "Donbas and done". If Ukrained agreed to give up Donbas, Ru would say this is a good start and immediately add demands, you know, "to address the root causes of the war".
Again, for emphasis: russia has not agreed to ANYTHING. Nearly 100% of the media coverage presents the current situation as: if Ukraine agrees to giving up Donbas, there will be peace. That is not the case! Stop acting as if it were.
Either Altman is lying in this story, or the Anthropic ban was completely pointless.
This is Trump's former AI adviser
Once again, in actual democracies, people do not need to engage in permanent litigation & political mobilization to retain the basic right to vote, because none of the major political parties make restricting suffrage the central pillar of their policy platform. We also don't have to live like this.
Absolutely true.
I've had military students in my graduate classes at elite universities like those now being banned. And in every instance, it was great for the officers themselves-- and for the rest of the students.
This is a terrible decision-- and will hurt military education.
And I should add that I learn so much as well. It's important for the professors, not just the students, to have different backgrounds and perspectives in their classrooms.
Over the years, I’ve seen military students embrace learning from other perspectives and I’ve seen the non-military students embrace learning from their military classmates. It’s a win-win for all.
