I'm back. The ice storm took out our power, phone, internet and TV. All my HF antennas down. I had was my 2m radio on simplex and NOAA radio. Power 25 days the rest 35 days. #hamradio #Ametuerradio

Terrible ice storm. All 3 HF antennas destroyed. No 2m repeaters up. 146.53 simplex only. 16 days no power, phone, internet or TV. 70 to 80 foot maples and not a top left. Widow makers everywhere. Hope to get a wire up. #hamradio #ham #Ametuerradio

I like the detail on that HO locomotive. I'm Chesapeake and Ohio, but on my wall is the Sothern Pacific #9725 double headed with a short consist. (I received a RXR cars each month. The locomotive was last after ordering a Readers Digest subscription in the late 60's)

I've been a Ham Radio operator for years. It's fun and you meet a lot of good people. A tech license is not difficult to pass. Go for it. Hams in your community will help you and do the testing.
