“Because we deserve a normal proposal.”
“Ours wasn’t bad.”
Dazai pouts. And Chuuya, as always, gives in. He slides his arms around Dazai’s shoulders and pulls him close, kissing him properly this time.
“Fine,” he murmurs against his lips. “Whatever you want.”
“No. I mean properly. Your favorite flowers. Somewhere nice. Me on one knee.”
“With your broken leg?” Chuuya snorts.
“Chibi!”
This time, Chuuya’s smile softens, less teasing, more fond. He leans in until their lips barely brush.
“Why?” he asks quietly.
Chuuya doesn’t react at first. He just looks at him, impassive. And then, he laughs.
“We are married, remember?” he says lightly. “If anything, you should be asking me for a divorce.”
Dazai sulks. Embarrassment tangles his tongue, but he pushes through it anyway.
Meursault #skk but everything happens on Valentine. A date like that shouldn’t mean anything and and yet, Fyodor’s words still linger, still sting.
Later, when Chuuya runs a bath for them, Dazai suddenly snaps.
“Marry me.”
The words burst out of him, sharp and desperate.
