Dr. Andrea Liu, member of the US National Academy of Sciences and the Hepburn Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss the importance of US scientists advocating for the protection of both academic freedom and funding.
Dr. Kate Wallis, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician, will discuss the ongoing attacks on evidence-based healthcare policy and the consequences for healthcare delivery in Philadelphia and across the country.

Scientists cannot afford to treat this as someone else’s issue.
As individual actors, scientists are not positioned to stand up to a coordinated federal assault, but COLLECTIVELY SCIENTISTS HAVE POWER. This power comes from organization... especially unions.
