Electrification + renewables = energy that isn’t shipped through chokepoints.

Corporations market intensively to children (including harmful products) because it is very lucrative 🤑 and creates lifetime consumers.

The WHO-UNICEF-Lancet Commission report recognized commercial marketing as a key threat to children’s health and wellbeing:

The 457 soldiers that lost their lives and the 2000+ UK military and civilian’s wounded in action fighting after the US invoked Article 5, and all their families, might have something different to say about this.

This sounds great and is really relevant to some work we´ve been doing in Kenya. Ambulances, or the lack of them, and poor referral systems came up as a significant issue. I can’t make this today however, is it being recorded at all please or is there a way to get copies of any slides please? 🙏🏼

There are now at least 365 UK MPs with accounts on Bluesky – more than half (56%) of all MPs

🔴 This includes nearly 70% of Labour MPs
🔶 Nearly 90% of Lib Dem MPs
🟢 All the 4 Green MPs

It’s hard to make sense of things currently. Is Trump just bonkers or 1, is this a well calculated strategic move to distract from other things? Or 2 a well calculated strategic move to divert military resources to other places. Or 3 a move to appease those who are not Europes allies?

Thanks for sharing. The different types of heat need more air time. As well as the impacts of heat in general not being felt equally, not all heat is the actually the same.

Interesting piece here calling for us to see climate change as climate instability as the weather oscillates between different extremes. Lots of other bits in here too that make this a worthwhile read from vegetation energy to adaptation.

weight recidivism is an awful term! You’d have thought we know better now not to use such language! All that work in public health tackling HIV stigma and we still see this sort of crap.

Part of the issue is how GLP-1s are used. Obesity can’t be fixed by a jab it needs holistic care eg mental health support for psychological factors & behavioural patterns alongside dietary & cooking education. Instead people are given the jab & that’s it, the same issues resurface once they stop it

Environmental crime prevention is moving into the diplomatic mainstream (commentary) Environmental crime used to be treated as a niche concern, a worry for park rangers, customs officers and a handful of conservation lawyers. Not anymore. From Vienna to Belém, a once technical debate…

Environmental crime is no longer a niche issue.

From the UNFCCC & UNTOC to governments & Interpol, a global push is forming to tackle illegal deforestation, mining & wildlife trafficking — with calls to lock enforcement & financing into climate & biodiversity deals.
