every time someone says "i wish we could abolish gender" what i hear is: "i am alienated from my gender and i wish that didnt have emotional consequences" but personally when i started to address those feelings of alienation by transitioning, i felt much better, all the time lol.

i know transitioning isnt (and shouldnt) be some sort of cure-all, so for a lot of people it's not enough.

but the point is physical embodiment, in whatever form, defeats alienation.
