West Coast Trail (North to South) β€’ Pacific Rim National Park Reserve charges a fee to enter. For more information, please visit https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/pacificrim/activ/SCO-WCT/~/link.aspx?_id=A1104F0D87484B229F3D09C5499C33EB&_z=z. The West Country Trail is a challenging backcountry backpacking trail. Hikers will climb ladders, pass through deep waters, and push through unpredictable weather of wind or rain. The trail goes through forests, sandy and rocky beaches, rock pools and pass a variety of fauna and flora. Hikers interested in completing this trail should take into consideration that this entire trail is a a multi-day backpacking trip that takes between six and eight days. All overnight visitors must complete an orientation session and pre-hike briefing. The sessions are held at both Gordon River/Pachena Bay and Nitinaht Village. More information about planning your trip can be found on the park website here: https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/pacificrim/activ/SCO-WCT/ii The facilities along the route are great (especially the composting toilets) and a lack of space is never an issue. Tsusiat, Walbran and Camper each have two outhouses and multiple bear bins, and there is almost always somewhere to pitch a tent. Cribs Campsite is a favourite among visitors. It is especially beautiful at sunset and the only site where tents are not bogged down with condensation in the morning. The trail itself is very difficult, particularly between Camper and the Thrasher junction. That section is extremely dangerous and technical, especially when wet. The log crossings are slippery and the boardwalks are in terrible shape and often impossible to avoid, so step carefully.

Or come out to the west coast…
