Basically every item is its own resource that is loaded at the start, then the game only saves which items the player has and how many of them.

So much stuff for a button to be visible/enabled... It depends on whether the previous is unlocked, then the previous of the previous, then some may require goals to be completed... Then the tooltip needs to show the upgrade or the goal's description... Then the style of the button must change...
