THE TIME HAS COME
THE TIME HAS COME
For this #LetterboxdFriday I saw two new films in the cinema, both of which were excellent in very different ways.
Kids these days have no idea how much of a flex having a seven digit ICQ number was.
It's once again the best day to support musicians on Bandcamp!
So many unanswered questions about Project Helix.
When they say Xbox games do they mean Xbox console games or games for the Windows Xbox launcher like with the Xbox Rog Ally?
Is the new system a Windows PC with Xbox compatibility or an Xbox console with access to Windows libraries like dot net?
It launches almost two years later with support for more games so if anything it sounds like it's actually the other way round.
Iβve been reporting that the next Xbox would play PC games for 2+ years, and now itβs official. Microsoft has teased its next Xbox, and says βProject Helixβ will play PC games. Weβll hear more about Project Helix at GDC next week π www.theverge.com/games/890194...
One system that can play all my Xbox games and all my PC games? That's a pretty tempting proposition.
Having a larger potential customer base works in their favour though because it's more people to buy digital games and services, which is where the money really is.
Xbox Game Pass is their bread and butter and the Series S is pretty much a game pass box.
That would be an easy way to get slapped with an antitrust lawsuit.
The Xbox Series is the 20th best selling console of all time.
It hasn't matched PS5 numbers but it has still sold relatively well.
It's official. Microsoft are merging the Windows gaming and Xbox ecosystems.
The only question is will this be a console only feature or will they launch an Xbox compatibility layer for Windows?
It's a great piece of kit but I don't really use it that much because I don't like being tied down to my desk.
I'm going to try it with Logic but I'll try to stick to small projects with stock plug-ins only.
If I end up having a project that gets away from me then I can always transfer it over to my M4 Mac Mini for a bit more horsepower.
I've pre-ordered the Neo despite my misgivings regarding buying a computer with only 8GB of RAM.
It'll mainly be used for web browsing and coding practice so I think I should be okay.
I got an LP by Huey Lewis and the News and now I can't decide if it should be sorted under H, L or N.
I'm currently writing a CPU emulator with compound instruction mnemonics that has over five hundred combinations as a nested switch statement.
It worked out what I wanted to do from just a three letter mnemonic and wrote all the code exactly as I wanted.
I hate to say it but having an AI coding assistant is so useful.
I wrote a function and then it wrote the inverse function for me exactly the way I would have done it.
Even when it doesn't know exactly what I want to do it gets the structure right which is most of the typing work.
A PC port has already been announced to be releasing later this month.

People can talk about how they need exclusives to drive console sales and what have you but I refuse to believe that they just coincidentally decided to do this after the launch of the Xbox Rog Ally.
So much for Microsoft loopholing their way onto having Sony games on their consoles by making the next Xbox run Windows games.
Damn, they really did not take kindly to their games being playable on an Xbox branded device.
recolored and hastily edited windows 11 background. it says windows 13 and it's green
Windows 13 rumored to "suck your dick clean off", per sources close to Microsoft.
A floofy tabby cat lies on his back, with his head and little cat-arms thrown to one side. A rolly chair and mat are visible in tbe corner of the photo.
Not sure how I ended up with the weirdest coworker as my officemate.
When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.
And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.
Hi hello just QRPing some info abt this coming in from the other site. This news is fake, it was a hallucination.
This also excludes a lot of current CPUs because NPUs are mainly a laptop feature so I'm wondering what they expect desktop users to do.
Will Nvidia start producing discrete NPU cards for the consumer market/build NPUs into the 60 series or will Intel and AMD start including NPUs in all their CPUs?
