Which France has offered to help facilitate, but successive UK govts have refused.

I'm not sure many people who were around for the run-up to Iraq believe a word of this bs, tbh...Fool me once and all that...
Donald Trump has lost control of the Iran war.
Searing stuff from @tparsi.bsky.social
Thatβs not how human rights work. Theyβre rights that you have because youβre human, not because someone thinks youβre good enough.
So far the war in Iran has cost an estimated $5.5 billion.
That's roughly $1 billion per day.
$41,666,667 per hour.
$11,574 per second.
People do not want this.
They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.
It's absolutely mental that Israel is getting caught red-handed carrying out one false flag after another against its so-called allies and the corporate media is just acting like it isn't happening.
Dear Shabana, I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank. You said: βA party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to make a perilous crossing on small boats.β I suppose I shouldnβt be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division. When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney. As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I filled water tanks and picked up litter. What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country. Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it. It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and croissants to refugees and food parcels. When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She said βwe have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers whilst risking death on the seas.β She said βmaybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when β¦
Dear Shabana,
Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.
When the Prime Minister spreads lies about people - there are consequences.
He's made some outrageous smears. It's debasing our politics.
Anything to try to quieten dissent about the US and Israel starting an illegal war.

astonished to find "actually, it's Tolkien" is a verbatim quote of Badenoch talking about her "orcs and goons" line, and not a sketchwriter's invention. please could her next television pool interviewer ask her to describe the goons of Middle Earth?
Imagine backing Israel's actions in Gaza as 'self-defence', but then accusing Iran of a 'disproportionate response'...
Hundreds of Iranian children have been murdered, in an illegal war, but Starmer complains about Iran?

If we went back to the traditional leader in the front line, their grown kids next to them approach to conflict, you can bet your arse there'd be far fewer wars...

People need to stop blaming greed and attributing it to everybody, or hating 'poverty' but not blaming the people who cause it.
The people causing all the problems have a name, billionaires.
And they are not everybody, they are the 0.0006%
Hi! Immigration lawyer here! Mahmood's view of the Refugee Convention as providing temporary protection just isnβt correct & AFAIK isnβt one anyone has ever adopted.
On the contrary, the Convention is clearly predicated on a long-term need for protection.

You think you're immune from accountability β but I promise you this, one day heβs not going to be president anymore β and we are going to continue to prove your guiltβ

Why say βCorridor Careβ?
Because official terms like βcare in temporary spacesβ sanitises a crisis. Treating patients in cupboards and waiting rooms is a system at breaking point.

I'm against #Genocide. That doesn't make me anti-Semitic. Not supporting Starmer's Party doesn't make me pro-Reform. Being against Trump's wars on everyone who isn't white Christian doesn't mean I support the Iranian regime. #Justsaying
Not only does @feargalsharkey.bsky.social have opinions, they're pretty awesome - and he has the facts to back them up. π€©

This is what actually happens to the guy who stands up in the Norman Rockwell painting.
the labour party have an awful lot of far right policies for a party claiming to be the only opposition to the far right.

NHS official pushed to add patient data to Palantir platform whilst also advising company
A lobbyist who worked directly for Peter Mandelson, on the Palantir board, and on the board of *four* NHS trusts.
Lobbying the NHS to hand over even more patient data to Palantir.
This absolutely stinks. Get Palantir out of the NHS. Sign my petition:

This is nothing to do with fairness, and everything to do with disenfranchising certain demographics.
Sleight of hand racism is still racism.
