there was a super old project file with zalgo text in the filename so it’s probably just bizarre edge cases like that which windows can deal with because it’s an OS with 1,000 bandages and bodges but linux never bothered to implement
had a mini-heart attack cuz i couldnt find my projects & exports folders, but then i realized they were just showing up as broken symlinks. windows still shows the folders properly so i think theres just a weird file or two in there linux doesnt like, i copied them to a different drive and they work

honestly most of my VSTs are weird instruments so i could be in the doghouse there, but a lot of them are quite old by this point. i do use the rx9 de-esser pretty much habitually because it’s the best one i’ve found, but that would be more of a holdover i could replace
if i really need it i can just boot back into windows and use FL there but there’s a big part of me that’s so old and cranky and just wants to stay on linux instead of having to reboot constantly to make mashups
my experience with using bazzite has actually been really nice so far, it makes me want to get as much as i can off of my windows install, but the idea of reinstalling even half of the fl studio VSTs i used is somewhat frightening because i don’t know how many are relying on windows to work
