If you find any dead frogs in your own garden can I please ask that you either burn or bury them deeply to prevent the disease being carried to other locations. Garden wildlife is struggling in the UK right now and it really does need all the help it can get.

There is no cure for this disease (although some develop natural immunity) and the mortality rate is extremely high. There is also a possibility it can spread to fish and other amphibians so potentially very serious.

Devastated to go into the garden today and find four recently deceased frogs around the pond area. It appears we have an outbreak of Ranavirus in our population which could wipe out the majority of the colony. Anybody who knows me knows how attached I am to our garden's frogs.
