God even they way you join your faction for the Haranir bothers me. In others you are part of a larger group that parts ways.
For Haranir it's "oh the whispers want you to go help", but it just shows ONLY your character. Making this feel intimate, but off.
I agree. And I think that is one of the major failings in MoP.
There was at least effort though.

Once a single like hits it, my post is laid in stone.
Both see a similar route in joining a gargantuan coalition on the surface to help their own ends. The Haranir are, at this time, prettt close minded so this could lead to intense "my way is better than yours" conflicts.

Like imagine if for the Haranir they leaned into more open minded Rootwardens joining the Alliance because of World Tree destruction bitterness w/ the nelves vs Horde Haranir joining because they believe the Horde is better equipped at preserving the World Trees (or something idk).
...put into the Pandaren, it was more plausible.
Now it's like "here's your blue/red tabard. Jump through the portal for adventure" and then the starting experience is over. We really needed a quest or two with dialogue capping off WHY joining makes sense and why you would consider a neighbor...
With the Earthen, Dracthyr, and Haranir it just doesn't "feel" right. There is ZERO tension. Zero reason to believe fellow creche mates would kill each other, for example.
I find it easier to believe these three factions would go into the factions over the Pandaren, but since there was effort...
Despite their teachings of peace, I think this was a good way of challenging that philosophy. Oh you thought you were gonna just chill out and explore? Guess again. Now go palm strike that other faction's pandaren in the throat.
One of the reasons that neutral races are generally dumb isn't that it wouldn't make sense. It's that wrong have been given zero reason for it to make sense.
To my knowledge, is the only time this has been addressed been with the Pandaren?

Not to make this a commentary on real life parallels, but there is something unsettling about how people want "belligerent" characters to die, especially when it comes to opposing authority. Very much "you should just comply" vibes that is rampant in my country.
