Faded pink tulips with yellow center, wide open, pointed petals.
I'd love to see them!
They sound a bit like these, called Tulip Love Dance, although this photo is past peak so the bright pink has faded... These are great, and also come back each year, although this winter lasted a week, with maybe two other frosts, so we'll see if any tulips show up this year!
Red, white, pink classic shape tulips in bloom.
These were my favorites, they all disappeared after two seasons... Oh well. I decided I was not going to keep buying endless tulip bulbs! Been slowing down the plantings, rearranging things for less maintenance...
But these were so lovely to see when I walked out the door. ππ’

Black crow standing on a terracotta dish filled with birdseed and peanuts, turned to the side, peanut in shell in its beak, metal farm fencing in front and behind, some grass. Straw in background.
Not the most lovely setting for a photo, but this young crow had a bright sparkle in its eye and no fear when he landed right by me at my friend's farm...
Peanuts!

How are the pups these days, Joy?
And how is your husband ~ back to fine form, I hope. ππ
Are you able to grow them where you are? I know they like cold in winter...
Yes, these return. Actually, most of them do, other than some beautifully tall, classic-shape ones I used to have that disappeared...
Oh, and the parrot ones. Too hybrid maybe, they didn't thrive at all.
Thank you, Cathey! ππ

Nice!
Bird standing on end of piece of wood, royal blue head, back, and wings, with white eyebrows and neck, grey-ish chest and belly. Alert black eyes. Greenery surrounds.
The bird I see most in the garden year-round.
California scrub jay.
Intelligent, curious, happy to hang out with this gardener and dive for grubs now and then... and their lovely shade of blue! Quite fond of these rascals.

Very aware ~ and it's sickening.
Yellow and apricot tulip flowers and leaves, blurred grass behind.
Spring is coming. ππ±

Too many! ππ₯° Not near enough winter this year.
Flowers bursting everywhere these days - and concerns for late summer aside, it's so lovely!
How about your way? Snow and cold behind you yet?
Thank you. Same! What is she hiding in there??
Nuccio's Gem camellia flower, with crisp, geometric, precise petals in bright white. Dark leaves surround. One white bud opening, behind and to the right.
So close, now, so close... π€π±
Camellias are budding out, no flowers yet, but... soon!

Me too! πΈπ
Couldn't resist a little humor for a caption, I couldn't think of anything else to say! π
Thank you, Joy. π
Happy Friday!
Bright, hazy image of many, many seagulls gathered at the shore, one distinct gull in foreground, taking a step.

Pelicans on left, gulls on right on a smoky day at the Pacific coast. Birds all standing in water right at shoreline.

Painting in center, with fantastic architectural detail on ceiling above. Painting is meant to embody the school - Yale - with central figure, a woman in white gown, blue/gold cape, in school colors, holding school motto, surrounded by allegorical figures of Light, Truth, Science, Labor, Music, Divinity, Literature, and the Arts. Several men on right, with one woman's face visible, leaned in. Two women on left, one naked, the other in pink/white gown and halo. Men in various baggy garb. Not sure which one the naked woman symbolizes. Always with the naked woman among men in baggy clothing in old paintings... and not that old. Painted by Eugene Savage, 1932.
'Alma Mater.'
Sterling Memorial Library, Yale University.
Loved the architecture surrounding! Not so sure about the painting...

She looks like she's actually thinking: "No, *I'm* the domestic terrorist! Me! Not those sad, decent people. Me!"
Ahhh, one of the loveliest flowers... πππ
Of course, the media would say/manufacture that we were in one, anyway.

Our ears are open
Whatβs in a story? Everything under the sun and moon. When we sit with the fire, words waft like ashes rising from flames joining the stars above. They are our own personal records of time here on earth. How many times have you heard a story and said that happened to me too or I feel those words. We need to honor ourselves and the roots where we came from because our voices are paths to understanding and having empathy for each otherβs journey on this planet. We all go through the same things, just at different times. I hope this simple idea of sitting around a campfire and sharing stories ignites friendships, experiences and growth of our communities, but most of all, knowing we are not alone as long as the fire glows and we take a seat. Always be safe and happy, see you in March ~ βif the creek donβt riseβ p m gibbs
