I get that. I don’t think the prediction was that they’d actually end up there at the end of the year. I think the point was that, absent significant moves (other than just releasing DeRozan and saving his non-guaranteed money), they’d be in the second apron with a very bad team.

I’m a little surprised the Kings couldn’t find a taker for DeRozan, seems like he could help a team. Not saying they’d get much in return, just the chance for him to play for a team that isn’t a dumpster fire.
