If you’ve got issues recognizing the line between fiction and fantasy, then work on it, or fuck off. Don’t make it someone else’s problem if YOU can’t separate the two, if you can’t process how one could possibly concoct such crazy things in the context of fantasy yet not want it irl.

No, you don’t have to subscribe to all the kinks. You don’t have to like the other kinks. That’s not the point of this or any of the other variations on this message I’ve seen. What you must support is the freedom of those folks to express that kink. It’s fiction and fantasy.

And repeat it will, for as long as folks are willing to carve out an exception for their own kinks and sacrifice another group to the powers that be. As long as there’s someone you’re willing to throw under a bus, they’ll keep up the incentive for you to do it until you find yourself being tossed.

I’m sure some of you know the original quote and the context, moreso I HOPE some of my followers do, though I do acknowledge that this stuff becomes easy to forget as time marches on. I mean that’s part of the reason we keep seeing this endless cycle on repeat.

But it’s also worth remembering that this same kind of strategy has long been employed for easy subjugation, cause it works well!
You just make one part of a group feel that they’re better than the rest, and then well it tends to be a pretty hardily self-sustaining reaction after that.

And most importantly, none of this matters at all in the context of it all being fiction and fantasy to begin with. Really begs the question as to what the motivations are behind trying to apply real world morals and logic to fantasy and fiction in those cases.

In every case there’s some way to divide something such that there’s one side that seems ‘better’ or ‘morally superior’ than the other to the consuming in-groups. But of course none of this matters to an out-group that sees it as all the same shit that they just want globally erased.

It applies to every sub-group of kink too. If you draw vore, there are people who look at you funny if you like digestion. If you draw feet, there are people who look at you funny if you like em smelly. For sizey stuff there’s the gentle versus the cruel and destructive.

And I dunno that it’s meant to be a challenge or disparaging statement. It’s just the way things are right now. I mean shit, the fact that people feel pressured to have alt accounts for even some of the more vanilla kinks out there speaks this loudly enough.

What my liz is getting at here is that it’s not a literal matter of being in one’s right mind, but it’s the fact that the stigma is so strong that it almost feels as though you’d have to be out of your mind to loudly say it. But it is true.
