An eclectic store called Dark Future. The logo is an orange filed with an Armored Skeleton Warrior glaring menancingly
Dark Future is an awesome store for an old metal head like me. A nice collection of cassette tapes and records alongside old school RPGs. I picked up some old Dark Sun stuff and something local. I highly recommend a visit.
Finally getting back to some travel and gaming. Looking forward to running my ASOIAF/Mork Borg hack in Portland next week.seemed like the perfect set of rules for The Lomg Winter
I'm a fan. I grew up reading 80s and 90s Batman. Absolute does a better job of modernizing analogies of class warfare in a backdrop that is more relevent and connected to today's reader. I'm glad to see they're back to holding a dark mirror to society like they use to. And I love the grim & grit art
Game store front named Dogpatch Games.
A view of the inside Dogpatch Games, showing several empty gaming tables and a boardgame library
Dogpatch Games. An awesome store and game space located in the Dogpatch area of San Fran. With a gigantic boardgame library and tons of gaming space it's a great place for groups to do gaming of all kinds. Staff was super friendly.
A picture of an adorable cat at a laptop. The words "You Can Do It! I Believe In You!" are written. This is a message of encouragement for Lin Codega because the poster has read Lin's previous work and has great confidence in them
I am never more productive at little projects as when I'm working as hard as I can to avoid big projects.
Today is my birthday (turning 29), which is the only time all year that I ask for a repost ๐ฟ
I hope you get lost in fantasy worlds as much as I do ๐ฎ
Just watched Slay (2024 Jem Gerrard) and I'm not afraid to say, it was awesome. If you like campy horror give it a watch.
Cortex Prime with power sets being interchangeable!

But what are you doing there? Used to be, "here's some caves full of Goblins, and if you climb this mountain, rumor says there's a Lich. You gain 1d6hp every level. " But now all I see is, "You should roll on this chart, 1 for rat, 6 for a pack of werewolves. Gaining hp every level is for cowards."
Hey, I love OSR games, but now we're beyond the point of creating a fantasy about what OSR is about. Bro is trying to convince me Lvl 1 PCs with 4hp were always meant to fight 75hp dragons. "If ThEy'Re ClEvEr EnOuGh ThEy WoN't EvEn HaVe To FiGhT!" Then what are we even doing here, bro?
I really liked how Dresden Files allowed for any kind of folk lore addition. But Eidelon Alpha using the Cortex Prime system is my favorite.
Currently obsessed with Pirate Borg. It's like A24 asked Neil Blomsky to remake the Pirates of the Carribean as splatterpunk. Rules light, and with so many random charts, it's easy to pick up and go with no prep and still have crazy fun.
It is a screen shot depicted a Google inquiry. "Did The Munsters have a cat?" The AI overview correctly states they had a pet dragon, named Spot, but incorrectly states they did not have a cat. Just below the AI overview is both the Wikipedia article used as source material for the AI overview and a link to the fandom page that lists the pet cat, named Kitty, that was indeed in almost every episode of The Munsters.
They've fixed this one since.
Primo is for the TTRPG Rosewood Abbey available at The Arcanist's Tavern in London, UK.
The Arcanist's Tavern publicans hold three copies of Rosewood Abbey behind their dragon-shaped beer tap.
If you're looking for a venue for a drink , a party, renting a table for a wargame or tabletop in an immersive setting, look no further thank The Arcanist's Tavern in London's I-was-there-before-it-was-cool Shoreditch.

It was an avalanche. Name a game published between 85 and 99 and I either played it or owned it. Once I got my own group of friends it was gaming every weekend. The first game I ever GM'd was Palladiums's Ninjas & Superspies
My brother's taught me to play Basic D&D in 1989. I don't know if Star Frontiers counts since it was another TSR game. And it's hard to remember which came first, but I was either Call of Cthulhu or TMNT & Other Strangeness. I was lucky to have brothers who were super nerdy in the 80s.
I'm playing Cy_borg this week so this is inspiring

Making their motivations just, but their methods cruel. Making them a part of the system(like a government official), but using the opposition(is secretly funding the criminals).
A brick wall adorned with a poster of a kobold and other decorations. On the left is the sign for the brewery, Kobold Brewing with a trellis holding vines and some purple flowers. In the middle is a small mirror, a shelf with a pirate ship, and another shelf with an ornate beer stein. The poster on the right is a dancing man with imp like features, a big nose and pointed ears, he is dancing a jig while holding a mug of beer. The poster reads "This miniature man, wiry and grey; within your cellar he will stay;he'll help you brew so never you fear---; Just don't forget his daily beer!"
Stopping in at one of my favorite brewery. Not ideal for gaming but great for a casual meetup. Good vibes a great beer. This would have been a great visit to setup something like The Quiet Year, but didn't know how the work was going to go.
Interior of Myth and Legend. Track lighting casts a glow over merchandise such as dragon themed wax melt sets and Tarot cards. A faux castle archway leads to another room.
A very non descriptive facade for Myth & Legend.
Back to traveling. It's getting hard to find places I haven't been to, I have to keep going further and further out. Today, I went to a store I thought was an FLGS but was more of a Goth Boutique, but it had D&D merchandise, so I guess that counts.
I wanted to do this so badly. Making videos isn't my skill set, but there's just so many games that deserve more attention.
Modiphius' Dream Machine is pretty close the Horizon Zero Dawn in theme. It makes a good substitute for me.
I let my arrows do the talking
I absolutely love Cortex Prime. With it, I have played homemade versions of TMNT, Batman: Arkham City, Gaslands, and Shadowrun. It's my #1 go to game.
Look to D&Ds Dungeon Delve for inspiration. Three quick encounters linked by an interesting story. Add in some interesting NPCs and social encounters when you have time for it.
A collection of role playing books, mostly consisting of Warcraft and World of Warcraft games.
I liked the 3.5 version they made, but my players didn't like Warcraft, so I had to just steal the good ideas from the books for our game.
