Plus: beat reporting requires you to be responsible for what you’ve written —you’ll see those folks again. Too much modern journalism is explainer/pundit based and you’re rarely held to account for your opinions.

Hmmm. I think it’s the other way around. People decided “I like strawberries, and I want them all year round”. Growers and markets accommodated.
