So if someone in your field threatened your ability to work unless you signed your rights away, what is that?
Refusing to give someone what they desperately want unless they comply with your wishes is definitely coercion. You donโt have to have a gun to someoneโs head to be coercive, especially in a legal sense.
This isnโt a random job that anyone can get. Act๏ฟผing is highly competitive work in the arts, and the jobs that pay good money are held by gatekeepers. If a studio says they wonโt hire you, that cuts off your ability to work in your field.
