'Pero Γ©l prefiere su estilo de vida
Habita el sΓ que estΓ‘ dentro del no'
βUlalume GonzΓ‘lez de LeΓ³n
Inhabiting the yes inside of every no is precisely what I aspire to! I am liking GonzΓ‘lez de LeΓ³n's metaphysics in Plagios. Sheβs more to my taste in that regard than her colleague Octavio Paz.
Such a great resource this... it gets my endorsement not simply because I made the list again but for the wealth and diversity of material Dave curates here each week...
Hamster in the Wild!
My first experience with mushrooms. I am tired!
Of course, you canβt order a psychedelic experience like you order your breakfast at Tomβs. You get the special of the day, Honey, and you sit there and eat it, whether you like it or not.
It is the question-word answered by "druthering." (As "thither" is to "whither?")
Elephants are not cats, except
Some say that they are: itβs just
The speed at which you perceive them
That varies, and which end
You start from. (Donβt try this at home.)
Struck all over again by how utterly weird and wild the first chapter of Moby-Dick is. Were you expecting exposition? Introductions to the main characters? Maybe some scene-setting? LOL no, you're getting a philosophical treatise on water instead. With bonus fart jokes. π
My biographers (and biographers of lesser beings of the 21st Century) should note that the publication date of blogger blogs are falsifiable. In my case I have falsified them in order to make them correct, if I may put it that way.
"One thing I have learned as a crime writer is that you may kill any person you please, but you must never kill the cat." --Peter Lovesey
I certainly wouldn't assume Proverbs. I still expect Genesis, the New Testament, and the greatest-hit psalms, but even that may be expecting too much.

A lovely teaching from Nicole Baden Roshi. (Not a tradition I've ever practiced in, not a teacher I'm familiar with, but a lovely expression of the transcendental hopes I still carry.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb0L...
Iβm really not at all sure what the enterprise of meditation is, for a lapsed Buddhist and not-really-Christian and pilferer of hozho; but it appears to be the correct one.
Bonus points if you can identify the quotation from Faulker :-)
"I am halfway through the holiday rapids. Shoot Christmas successfully, my lord, and we arrive in the calm water of January."
It is the prayer against gluttony, and the gist of it is: am I to be on my own side or not? Am I going to support myself or let myself down?
