I have a 100% file on my GC copy because the new ports are lowkey worse in a lot of ways and I prefer the GC controller vastly to anything else but I see absolutely no point in playing Sonic Gens on a 360 nowadays
There are exceptions, if the remaster is handheld only then I’ll consider the OG as a separate entity (think OoT) simply because “big TV oooaa” but 9/10 it comes down to “does the game run better/faster? Yes? Cool the og is garbage now”
If its JUST a resolution upgrade it really depends on console
Im also someone who’ll take a dogshit resolution if it means 60 frames though so I think that says a lot about my preference
Thousand Year Door’s Remaster for example is an anomaly, on one hand it has a lot of QOL stuff but they literally lowered the framerate for NO reason
Not to say if you cant afford the newer version, you shouldn’t play the OG but 9/10 (idk if this applies to Prime funnily enough) the newer versions have a higher framerate and I’d rather DIE than to play a game on an inferior frame rate

My toxic trait is that I judge people who play OG versions of games that have “definitive” remasters so hard because my OCD only lets me play the “best version” in case I want a definitive save file so when I see people play Metroid Prime on a GC for example it IRKS my soul
