20 km bike ride today! at some point we stopped being defeated by the hills and started looking forward to the next big hill and going, "that's me, baby ๐ that's the dark souls of hills. I'm gonna parry it."
DC Comic' character Janet is wearing a dress with flowers adorning it. 3 white doves fly around her and one is handing Janet an ivy sprig in her outstretched hand. There are dead bodies and rotting skeletons around Janet in a swamp setting.

Everytime I read US news I think about my friend in Silicon Valley who told me, after I just came out to him about being TRANS ๐ณโโง, to come live in the US because, "nothing bad could ever happen and the orange guy won't get elected again, you're so crazy, stop worrying so much"
things you can say while watching Foundation S3 and reading news about the US: "man, I didn't think Empire could fall that fast but whoop, there it is, that's it for Empire"
we hung up nine picture frames today
I have to hang them up higher than usual because my gf is so โจ๐โโ๏ธ๐ TALL ใ๏ธ๐๐ค๏ธ
this is absolutely a lobster too buttery steak too juicy situation btw
today it feels like I've mostly achieved it (it still ain't walkable enough). but the people in melbourne who LOVE cars also LOVE public transport and I'm like, "jfc, finally, people who understand trains/trams/bicycles actually make car people's lives easier and better!!!"
get me off the road!!!
article showing Auckland light rail project scrapped
three years ago I decided to move to a walkable city after I spent twenty+ years fighting and campaigning in my city for public transport and infrastructure and they just...gave up and made it worse. at that point it's like living with an abusive parent so I left and my life got instantly better ๐คทโโ๏ธ
in the middle of unpacking after finishing my SEVENTH move in three years and i'm tired ๐ญ๐ซ ๐ซ my entire body is sore and even sitting down causes aches and pain. i'm dying squirtle. feels like i slept in the pear wriggler all night.
If you prefer it in English transcript form so you can read at your own pace (instead of reading subtitles from the entire video), follow the step by step instructions below to read it like an essay:
Help I haven't slept in 3 days
A bamboo steamer holding 8 Xiao long baos
An almond croissant from Hector's Deli
got to introduce my gf to some Shanghai xiao long bao and we got to try a super moist yet impeccably crunchy almond croissant from Hector's Deli (recommend!)
I am the short klutzy one with glasses on the left in the red and purple rain jacket and my gf suzy is the tall and beautiful and amazing and incredible and sexy one wearing the white helmet and pink shirt
first time doing a full bike ride in the rain and the patagonia jacket (outlet clearance, don't buy full price) held up nicely. might get some waterproof pants soon
suzy did not have a rain jacket and got drenched ๐ตโ๐ซ
ride was fun but slipped on the sidewalk tiles for the visually impaired
A wooden pole in the middle of a park saying electrolysis
there's free electrolysis for dolls with the eyes to see ๐
a youtube comment saying: "what on earth is a substack, please just give recipe"
me watching any recipe video nowadays
I choose love over hate.
And bigger love when love comes.
If you're unsure about trans people,
Chiitan isn't asking you to understand.
Just watch over them kindly.
Trans folks simply want to laugh, love & grow
with those who light up their world. ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
A sign saying free ice cream at the pride festival
Melbourne trains with the logo Ride with Pride
Chinese new year at Chinatown
Lion dances happening in Melbourne central at the Chinese new year festival
I've been to so many incredible festivals lately!!! ๐๐trans/queer and alt people everywhere, laughing and having fun...got to do Chinese New Year and clothing/music/coffee/food festivals...Melbourne ya gotta slow down, I can't attend all of them!
While we sit around to find out how bad exactly it all is, a bit of cheer: the best baguette of Paris competition was won by a Sri Lankan who appears to have started as a dish washer in restaurants and eventually trained as a Boulanger.

Secret to a good sandwich is just stack it full of fresh, crisp vegetables and acid (mustard, pickles, jalapeรฑos, ketchup, tomatoes etc)
Basically a core cooking tip that gets repeated all the time by the chefs: if somethings missing, you can probably fix it by adding vinegar to your dish
Made 8 big sandwiches for less than 2 AUD per, and you could totally economize it down to less than 1 AUD -- it only cost that much because of locally baked bread, meat, and imported cheeses
The sandwich assembly station has arrived
A dirty coffee in a plastic cup on a stone counter
Best coffee ice so far was the "dirty" which was two ristretto shots, cold cream, and freshly grated orange zest. Bonkers out of this world. High and low temps, incredible mouth feel when mixed.
I let suzy try it and she said it was by far the worst coffee she's ever tasted. "Unbelievably foul" ๐คฎ
I had to draw it
LOVE THIS ๐
