Wrote a short tutorial for simple blurring in #godot.
It's mostly to try website things with hugo, but if you want more let me know. Feedback is also welcome!

I feel creatively stuck on this current game jam. I've come up with a few ideas, but none of them really 'call out to me' and I'm already a week into the 4 week jam T_T
Something makes me want to go with a like a wacky physics game idea, but trying to implement it has been a nightmare.
This is a joke of course, but at the same time it's really annoying I walk away for 6 months and now everything doesn't work.
Like what do you mean it failed because it's loading a macro from a file that doesn't exist... I haven't touched this in 2 years...???
I'm once again tempted to build my own Markdown to HTML static site generator XD
The one I was using for my site is now broken and there's no documentation for how to upgrade so I have to run it and then fix the errors with no hint as to how to fix it.
Adding quick inline to Carbs Toolbar 4.0 as requested by @snowdrama.bsky.social Likely will add a slider for the thickness but seems to be working quite well so far!
Sales tax (VAT etc) AND corporation tax AND income tax. Also don't forget refunds. Also don't forget 3rd party costs like contractors, marketing, localisation, software/tools, hardware, internet/webhosting, etc.
After all that, you get to pay yourself.
Gotcha I'll have to look into support for stuff like Android/iOS too but good to know for PC there's something there
What are you using to do the TTS stuff? This is super cool it'd be cool to try building myself in my game haha

I'm going to have to play Last Recode now hahaha
I played the original trilogy but I've been putting off Last Recode which has a 4th chapter because I don't want to play 2387489234 hours and not work on my game XD
Love .hack been a huge fan since i was young. .hack//sign was one of my first anime hahaha
Have you seen the teaser trailer for the new game .hack//Z.E.R.O.?
I've been using Matrix for a bit and was going to make my own homeserver kind of thing, but my account is already on the main matrix instance, so I'd have to like create a new account on my homeserver? It's kinda confusing.
It's cool but It's hard to get people on board with using it.
I really want to figure out a @fluxer.app self hosted instance.
I'm interested in how it works with the fluxer app, like how do I share the self hosted instance with others? Does my public self hosted instances show up in the community tab?
So many questions, hopefully there's documentation soon
Sick again for the 4th time this year, been sick for 4 days... and in my weakened state... I broke a tooth top left side... T_T
Time to live with another broken tooth because I cannot pay to fix this. I'm still unemployed and I'm not getting anything back from applying places...

Now living with my parents at 37 and not having a job, things like this haunt me every day.
I'm feeling good about my current game, but I'm reminded of it constantly when I think about money and budgeting and work, and it stings a bit.
Because of my just inability to read people, and poor conversational skills, I never did the "and you?" part of having a conversation so I never asked who he was, but the I still remember the questions he asked and I can't shake this feeling 26 year old me possibly missed a life changing opportunity
Years ago at PAX East, I ended up nervously rambling to this random guy about wanting to be a game dev after a panel, and now, no longer being early 20s, and with more experience with talking to strangers... I realize he was effectively interviewing me for a job, and I can't believe I missed it
"I didn't speak their exact technical dialect" so like a 'tech accent' lol, depending on what tech area they're in, and when they started, they got a specific way of saying things haha
That sucks though, a disconnect on the tech talk is hard because you could both be saying the same thing 2 ways.
It's like "producing" the process of making something vs "produce" like a fruit, they come from the same root but the pronunciation is different.
So you can "have an enum" because it's a "single thing" and to enumerate is to "list all the things" pronounced different, same root
Just my logic lol
I'd guess the e-nume pronunciation is because it's enum is short for enumerate(ee-new-mer-ate)
But I think it makes sense to nominalize it and pronounce e-num as a noun
"I have an enumerate" feels awkward, but "I have an enum" is okay, so it's sorta become it's own word separate from it's root.
Right now my top pick is Matrix + Element.
* Text/Voice/Video/Screen Share
* Private "Spaces" similar to servers
* E2EE for both DMs and rooms
Signal is surprisingly a close second, but can't have a "server" like structure, instead being more a bunch of DMs and group chats.
For those considering fleeing Discord, what things are you considering moving to? I'd be interested just to see what the top picks are.
Also what are your deal-breakers in terms of how you use Discord and what you want from a Discord alternative?
I didn't even sync my stuff I just started over, I had too many bookmarks anyway lol
I switched to #Waterfox back in December and its been great. I recommend anyone using #Firefox to consider it
Since it's a fork it's effectively the same thing, it's just all the benefits without the downsides of #Mozilla shoving unnecessary features into it
Most "age restricted" servers I'm in are like clans/guilds for adults. This whole thing is going to mean that the servers will probably OPEN UP and no longer be age restricted so the adults that won't verify can still be in the server, and thus technically putting more risk that kids will join.
Let's go! I've always wanted to scan my ID and send it off to a third party to be analyzed! This is my dream!
Guess I'm finally looking into self hosting like a Matrix instance today or something :P
Anyone got any other good alternatives with Text+Voice+Screen Share?
The mystery Python install turns out was because msys2 had it's own python installation I didn't know about and it didn't show up in programs, but was on the path because msys2 was on the path, and so Windows was using that instead of the one I installed with the Python install manager.
The core of the python issue was more that, some of the dependencies had issues with new versions, so I had to like run one in an old version, switch, and another in a new version, and the whole virtual environment thing was just a terrible experience.
Now we're waiting for it to compile... I'm going to bed, if it finishes it finishes. If It doesn't IDK what I'll do because I'm out of ideas
