Tommorow, my National Saturday Club Film & Screen students are going to watch the film that they made earlier this year be screened in a cinema as a part of the local film festival. They don't know their film is being shown too, they think they're going to listen to a Q&A after the BFI students film

Gen Z males twice as likely as baby boomers to believe wives should obey husbands Global survey shows young men and boys hold more traditional views about gender roles than older generations

Well put: โ€œNot only are many gen Z men putting limiting expectations on women, they are also trapping themselves within restrictive gender norms,โ€ she said. โ€œWe must continue to do more to dispel the idea of a zero-sum game in which women are the only beneficiaries of a gender-equal world.โ€

Anyone else watching CH4 'Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing?'
The producer who cuffed the ex prison officer to the toff with a Hitler painting on his wall deserves a BAFTA

My colleague's husband has started a business as a croupier for hire, and all of the bookings they've had so far have been weddings, so they've started doing all the fayres!

Not making classist generalisations, sadly I have family / peers that vote like this, and they will follow as they're relying on the man's income and the misguided belief it'll address cost of living. I appreciate this isn't the full definition(being pressured against their will)

Poor phrasing from me, sorry, but point still stands that if it does exist it's also working for them everytime a family votes right wing 'because Dad says that's how to get rid of the immigrants'

The funny bit about all the 'family voting' chat is that if any Reform MPs were actually working class they'd know that a lot of the women who vote for them blindly do so, so they're shooting themselves in the foot by trying to stop it.

Whoever said 'two people will read your thesis' was wrong, or at least didn't finish their sentence, as someone fwded this to me today (top 10 most downloaded theses in Jan 2026.) So 102 people downloaded the pdf and never read it too

Commemoration of the Red Ribbon Rebellion in the Australian goldfields. Lots of Chartist involvement. The flag, first flown in 1853, now hangs in Bendigo Trades Hall (just round the corner from the stones). Could be the only surviving Chartist banner anywhere in the world!

These articles never mention that lots of young men would be terrible dads (that study that said about half think feminism 'has gone too far') nor that for every woman who's whom started to rot aged 30, there's a man with fertility issues that are just as likely to cause a couple to struggle..

Cute moment from my day: a careers lead we work with thought I'd realised that in prev teaching job (at another school) I'd taught her son.
It was long term cover in y7 computing, and I worried they were falling behind all the time because I can't code, so it was a learning curve for all of us.

Graduates paying 51% marginal tax rate are already turning on Labour Student loan repayments are effectively a regressive tax

I hadn't thought about it this way, but defending the tories own system when even they've changed tack just to keep using HE as your scapegoat really is a *choice* for Labour

Surely the fact that for over ten years now people have argued at various elections about how to tactically vote means it's time to take removing FPTP seriously?
