It was comedy + music for me. Bits by Carlin, Patton Oswalt, Bo Burnham, Louis CK (sigh), and others left big impressions over time, & I felt like many Cake (a favorite) songs really got at a lot of what felt wrong about evangelicalism.

Ultimately it all pointed toward a more coherent worldview.

I am so serious when I say that there is a direct line to be drawn between Evangelism having no meaningful concept of the future save death and American conservatives having zero awareness of or interest in the future consequences of their actions
