you can actually get a really nice (very tactile) tactile from doubling up Matias clicky leaves. it’s wild and you kinda waste half of your Matiases, but IMO that’s the best use of ‘em.
Matias are aight… i’m super lucky, i have a stash of NOS SKCM Ambers and NOS SKCM Whites from a friend who left the hobby. Built one of my Saturn-60s with the Ambers and IBM 5140 caps that i was also gifted (wtf is my luck) and it’s one of my favorite builds.
i LOVE Alps!!! i have an AT101W but the SKCM Black Alps are in horrible condition… but i have some SKCM Browns in my Geonworks F1-88 that’re hella nice.
if you want a numpad, check out the Ticktype DP104. if you’re okay with forgoing the numpad, check out the Evo80 and Evo75. solid choices, and they’re prebuilt too so you don’t have to build anything yourself!

have you tried MTNU yet? it’s almost like a shorter MT3, but it’s got less deep of a dish.

yeah DCS is cherry-like. it’s a bit shorter which is unfortunate on some boards - you can kinda see through the gap, but i love the texture on the caps and they IMO sound great.
MOA caps look quite cute, but i really need row sculpting hahaha.

a lot of people dislike DCS because “it’s thin and thin = bad” but i love its unique sound. DSA tho… i can’t do uniform profile hahaha.
the new owner fell through, last i heard. sometime late last year.
duuuude, that fucking sucks, 2 hours of progress at the climax sounds abysmal.
as much as i love me some SP stuff (big fan of SA and DCS), it’s just so expensive now. even with GMK prices coming down it’s hard to justify picking up SP products at their current costs. but i also understand that they have to make a living (and if I recall correctly the current owners want out).
it’s a bit pricier than a Leopold, but its build quality is *very* nice, dare i say better than a Leopold. it’s also got bluetooth or a dongle too, if that changes anything.
gotcha. i think i’d recommend the Ticktype DP104. it’s a prebuilt, but it’s hotswap, so if you decide you want a different switch, you can swap them out without needing a soldering iron.
