I need to pickup at least 3 at some point!
Especially right now when there are other obvious games that aren't. It'll happen though!
We call out Mega Man 2 being the game most people like more, but so much of the first game is still really important on its own 😄
It's tricky, certain games seem to eat votes from others, and then things that seem obvious don't get in nearly as quickly as some of us might expect!
Again, only so many votes to go around. Lots of genre creators yet to go.

Especially with how popular those sorts of mechanics are. I think the seemingly endless choices probably had an influence, directly or not, on a ton of different genres even outside of that space.
Metroid will be back at some point, it wasn’t getting the votes unfortunately
Not to say that geographical reach isn’t one of the others, but sometimes that influence is really important!
It has had a ton of influence outside of the game itself, which is one of the key criteria
