Started by projecting uvs onto my reference art and baked it to get a base texture to work from. Cleaned it up a little in Blender, but most of the actual painting and detail work was done in Clip Studio. Just had to go back and forth throughout the painting process to make sure it looked right ๐

Texturing is complete- or at least at a point I feel satisfied enough to move on. Process was a mess, but it was a good learning experience.

base mesh for the character, using ps2/psp-era games as inspiration and reference
using floating geometry to build out the armor details and give the model more depth
completed body mesh, alongside the knight's trusty broken sword
modeling the head was a challenge, but not an unwelcome one. will likely need to tweak the geometry to better accommodate mapping the face texture
When you've hit rock bottom, the only direction is up.
Trying to start the new year with a renewed sense of focus and purpose. Feels more like the post-mortem spasms of a corpse, but i suppose it's better than just rotting.

Working my way out of a long depressive episode, making an effort to reintigrate myself into the online art space. Haven't made much in years, but would like to explore low-poly 3d with hand-painted textures. Sketched up a character design and reference sheet to get started.
