I researched oleds for a little while, but there are still many inconveniences. Magenta qd oleds, gray banding woleds, pixel refresh every 4 hours, burn-in inevitability, low brightness. Mini-led seems like the way to go. My current panel is a TN so it's gonna be a big upgrade no matter what

My second monitor I use for games has been going 12 years strong with only some mild image retention issues, but I think this year is finally the one where I upgrade. I've got a mini-led in mind I'm hoping to get later this year assuming I can afford it 🙏

This year has been such an odd one for me so far. A lot of self care, taking things slow, trying to reconnect with my emotions, not actively working on anything. It feels like I'm in the cocoon waiting to see what transformation I'm going through

I've been feeling the same way. To me they don't have any standout design elements and their coloration all kind of blends together (reminds me of the gen 2 beta starters). But a part of me is also like, am I just getting old and have seen too many starter reveals to get excited for them anymore lol

Culture has to turn away from this shit to survive. We have to make our own stuff and maybe it’ll look like dogshit but we can call it ours and love the process

All that said, if you like platformers, definitely check it out. It has some of the best feeling movement I've experienced in a platformer in a while.

Really wish Demon Tides clicked more for me. I really like the movement and Really like the talisman system, but the "levels" don't really do it for me. I think I heavily lean towards kinetic, reaction-based platforming over something centered more on exploration and puzzle solving.

Tried to write a thread with more thoughts, but I feel like I have a lot to say. I think my biggest worry is that Discord gets broken down the same way twitter did, with many friends just scattering to different platforms. On one hand, I know it's best that we don't all funnel to one place and build foundations on something inherently unreliable. But man does it feel nice having all your friends living on one street. I think it is important to recognize that Discord offers a valuable service. Sure, we shouldn't rely on it with no alternative, we ABSOLUTELY shouldn't have so many valuable resources locked behind servers, but there's a reason so many people use it for everyday communication. It's difficult to imagine any independent doing what it has done at this scale, and like other online platforms we use, it sucks that we have to rely on the owners and operators to be trustworthy. Maybe these kind of platforms just can't exist at this scale and also be held with accountability? I worry about Discord's future, especially with it pushing to become publicly traded. The platform has basically always had an issue with feature bloat, but I get it to some extent. A "free" service always has to have some shiny new feature to dangle in front of people to try to bring in money. But things have been pretty tame so far and I worry it'll only get worse. The ID situation is something I hope they'll walk back after all the negative backlash. There was a time where I should have cared more about my privacy, but with the times we live in, I value it more than ever. If child safety is their actual concern, there are better ways of implementing it than what they've proposed.

Cancelled my Nitro today. While Discord has a real issue with feature bloat, I was happy to pay for a service that was free to everyone and didn't immediately turn to ads to try and remain sustainable. But I can't support this invasive ID verification system they're implementing.

Like the bike I bought I could justify because it gives me more mobility and opens up more opportunities. But something like clothes or any "feel good" purchases are difficult because any justification feels so superficial

I was unemployed for a while and had to manage very carefully, but since I've been employed again I've tried to let myself be more lax. But even then I feel like I really have to analyze and justify any purchase.

And I'm not trying to call anyone out, but there are personally know like this, and I'm just like?? Are we not all struggling?? Am I more poor than I think? 😭

I've had a comfortable life, but not exceedingly so. So many things would come first for me if I could afford it; bettering my own health, paying for meals for family/friends, supporting creators I enjoy. I can't imagine having enough money that I'd even feel comfortable throwing it away to gambling

I can't help but be a little envious when I see people drop dozens or hundreds of dollars on stuff like blind boxes or mobile game gacha. Not because I want those things, but because idk how people can be comfortable enough with their money to justify it??
