Let us pause and ponder the reaction if a Democrat called 6 deaths "light casualties."
ποΈThe state of Trumpβs disastrous presidency on one front page this morning.
He has done nothing but bring misery to the United States and the entire world.
What if the federal government was a giant Cybertruck driven by insecure little boys screaming "I'm strong! I'm a big strong man! You can't tell me what to do because I'm big and strong!" while they careen into a ditch
Iβm generally opposed to the military draft, but I think we should temporarily reinstate it to draft just this one specific incel staffer who produced this video so that they can be immediately be inducted into the infantry and sent into combat in Iran.
Whoever coined the phrase "clicktatorship" should somehow get royalty checks for its usage.
The refusal to even pretend to take what they're doing seriously is genuinely eating at me. It's people dying! Real people! Not fiction! Many of them children so far! This is so infantilizing, cheap, and degrading to all involved. Makes me feel lost and insane, which is maybe the point.
Trump's Iran quagmire is getting worse. Striking pattern:
*Leavitt/Hegseth berating media for making Trump "look bad"
*Rs privately say they don't want ownership of Iran attack
*GOP avoiding using word "war"

This appalling White House video game imagery on Iran illustrates what @teotten1.bsky.social and I discuss on today's pod: The role of fantasy, unreality and sadism-as-entertainment in MAGA politics.

I donβt remember Trump campaigning on Americans needing to make financial sacrifices for foreign wars. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Today's abysmal jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich donβt create jobs or grow the economy.
What's required is investment in working people β and better wages.
When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs.
Remember this.
Job growth over 14 months of Trumpβs second term: 150,000 jobs
The previous 14 months: 1.74 million jobs
Under Biden: 0 months of job losses
Trumpβs second term: losses in two of the last three months, three of the last five months, and five of the last nine months.

CSPAN @cspan . @SpeakerJohnson after House blocked War Powers Resolution: "We're not at war, we have no intention at being at war. The president and the Department of Defense have made it very clear, this is a limited operation."
Darkly funny he had enough self-awareness to revert to "Department of Defense" here.
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

But sure letβs drop a billy a day on a war nobody wants or understands
In every Republican presidency of my lifetime there's been a recession and a new war in the Middle East.
Trump is a fucking disaster in every area of presidential responsibility.
Wow did something happen in the US in January 2025?
"Wow. A big drop" -- CNBC highlights that labor force participation is now the lowest it has been since in late 2021, before the covid vaccine was widely available
Another terrible monthly jobs report for the Trump Administration and they donβt have a pandemic to blame it on.
92,000 jobs lost in February. One has to wonder how much worse it really is?
Our economy is bleeding jobs. Prices are up, especially for gas. Yet the White House prioritizes tax cuts for billionaires, while launching a reckless new Middle East war.
It doesn't have to stay this way - not if the American people make our voices heard.

Given the obvious portents for Republicans, seems that this election is going to be riddled with fake Democrats and the billionaires that fund them.
Benghazi anyone?
"block grants like the ones associated with TANF can be used broadly, and there isnβt much oversight...most crisis pregnancy centers do not provide any medical services beyond nondiagnostic ultrasounds and do not provide prenatal care from physicians"
So forced birthers milk the taxpayers. Great:
This is a huge story.
