Winter fuel allowance for pensioners - cut
Disabled people's benefits - cut
Child benefit - cut
Don't worry everyone it's OK we're getting a theme park instead.

With the @greenparty.org.uk failing to offer any cut-through leadership, the left needs a new answer to halting the UKβs slide into Farageism. Mick Lynch is the kind of leader who could do it. @owenjones84.bsky.social hits the nail on the head.

The worst reforms since George Osborne will teach voters that politicians really are all the same. "That is the sort of loss that canβt be measured by a Treasury spreadsheet". - @DrFrancesRyan
www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Sorry but that's naive
Of course they are not but they are pitching as anti-establishment which is what people want and Nigel Farage is 10x a better communicator than Denyer or Ramsey who most of the country have never heard of. It's a huge problem which will keep the Greens at 8% or less in the polls until addressed.
Labour's cuts to sick and disabled people's benefits will save Β£5bn.
A 2% wealth tax on those with assets of over Β£10mn would bring in Β£24bn.
These cuts are both cruel and unnecessary.
You are wrong. Just look at Reform flying high in the polls. Green Party haven't moved an inch in the polls since the last election and are going nowhere under their current strategy and leadership. Wouldn't be surprised if they lose seats at the next election under the current trajectory.
Over half of Green voters in 2024 didnβt know who Carla Denyer was. 86% couldnβt identify Adrian Ramsay.
Totally agree with this piece by Joe Todd for @novaramedia.com - time for a new populist leader!

Ash has got this absolutely right. Hyper-focusing on identity politics is divisive and a huge strategic mistake that continues to box the left in to a smaller and smaller corner.

Over 200 companies in the UK, which includes over 5,000 workers, have permanently adopted a four-day working week with no loss of pay for staff @4dayweek.bsky.social

The hundreds of companies that have adopted a four-day working week in the UK are proud to be leading the way on better workplace rights and as a country we should be proud that the UK is leading the way on this.

Agree with Simon Jenkins that smartphones should be banned for young people under 16.
They are bad news for adults too though!

Itβs time for a 4-day week.π¦
On @goodmorningbritain.bsky.social this morning. We love to see it!
Great to speak with HR and Business leaders today at the Richmond Human Resources Forum in London.
The interest from businesses in a four-day week was so high that we had to deliver our session twice to accommodate everyone.
Icelandβs shorter working week has been a huge success β and itβs changed my familyβs life.

These are really shocking statistics: one in three children and a quarter of adults are living in poverty.

Weβre often astounded by the confidence some people speak with on the issue of a 4-day week when they havenβt got the first clue about it.
Read one set of trial results. Take a quick look at the positive outcomes from South Cambs Councilβs pilot. We dare you.
