Hopefully this is the DNC's wake-up call. They don't need to be barely a better pick than the mustache-twirlingly evil second option, they need to get back in touch with the people who would never consider voting Republican, but are increasingly considering not voting at all
Meanwhile leaving enough progressive votes on the table that, were they given but a crumb of respect and policy direction, would probably win the white house in perpetuity.
"If you don't vote for us, what you'll get is even worse" all so they can court an infinitesimally small percentage of centrist Republicans who *might* be swayed to vote Democrat in certain obtuse instances
Even just the first page of this book says exactly what I've felt for a long time. The DNC has basically rushed towards the center, alienating progressives with the lesser evil rhetoric, coercing then to vote with a party they barely recognize and shaming them if they don't
