Well, gas is expensive, and food is expensive, and we’re doing a war nobody wants, but at least there are no jobs
In 2010, the first away trip I went to was to RFK for the game against United, and I remember how mad the DC fans were when the “You’re moving to Baltimore” chants to La Donna e Nobile started.

Italy v Denmark 12:15 pm ET
I've wanted for a long time to write a good feature on Erica Dambach, Penn State's women's soccer coach who grew up in the Philly suburbs and runs one of the college game's top programs.
This week, I did it.
Good timing too, with the #USWNT back in the northeast:

Behold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google.
My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

When Haley speaks, you should listen. 🧵
The USL giving these players a place to play pro ball is good too. Reminiscent of 2010’s MLS that had tons of Caribbean players training and playing professionally. Raising tide lifts all boats, etc.
I always wonder what the plan is for these smaller federations. Are they looking for players, especially in the US college system, that could represent them? Are they trying to get top prospects on appropriate teams? What does the 3-5 year player pipeline look like?
Watching the US Virgin Islands vs. Puerto Rico in Concacaf W action. Puerto Rico up 6-0 in the 61st. Have to feel for USVI. Hopefully their federation is supporting the players and doing what they can to improve their situation.
When my youngest is older and can handle dad not being around.
The Yates Report specifically mentions anti-Black racism. Teams put their Black players on marketing materials but can't find time to celebrate them in the easiest way possible. That's exploitation, my friends. Compensation doesn't change that. Teams gotta start with the man in the mirror.
My one grandfather started a business that's still there today and my other was a commercial fisherman that piloted shallow-water landing craft during World War II.
E-40 said it best. "Everybody got choices."
It's a choice whether or not you celebrate Juneteenth. It's a choice whether or not you celebrate Pride. It's a choice whether or not you participate in and honor the celebrations of historically marginalized groups.
Choose wisely.
4 teams managed to figure out how to celebrate Black people during the regular season outside of June. EVERY team figured out how to celebrate Pride outside of June in the regular season. Teams make it work if they want to make it work. Be mad at your team, not the ask to celebrate Black people.
So your telling me 8 teams in this league are not having a Juneteenth/ replacement night.
And i leave Portland in this list because they are choosing to have theirs in June during a friendly that isn’t being televised by a big broadcast.
5 teams who ARE choosing to celebrate black excellence
Now official WAFCON is postponed to
July 25

Rarely is the question asked: is our children learning?
Wilmette officials are objecting to a proposal that would permit the Chicago Stars to play home matches at the new Ryan Field.
Because the stadium at 1501 Central Street sits along the Evanston-Wilmette border, Wilmette officials say the additional events could negatively affect village residents.
Midfielder Stella Nyamekye, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Fort Lauderdale in the USL Super League, has been transferred from NJ/NY Gotham FC to SK Brann in Norway for an undisclosed fee.

Seems as though something is trending in the right direction for El Tri Femenil when you have six players in a gameday roster that represent NWSL clubs

I made a worksheet for thinking through how to plan your garden drive.google.com/file/d/1pnol...
It's best for Philly people because it has sources for native plants in our area, but the general worksheet makes sense everywhere. Philly native species may not be native to you though obviously!
And that’s it! Cuba with a good showing against Curaçao, getting a 3-0 win. Cuba moves to the top of the Group E table with six points, two more than Panamá after the second round of games. Curaçao at the bottom with zero points.
The skies have opened up over Estadio Antonio Maceo. Curaçao desperately trying to get a consolation goal late.
