Animals, birds, trees, rocks. Here to support favorite authors and artists who left the Bad Place. Mostly a lurker because I am just so tired. Words to live by: You never truly own anything you can't carry on your back at a dead run.

I feel this on a cellular level. Is yours muffled screaming into a pillow (mine), or are you just belting it out?

I keep hoping for a print version (having no e-reader and a pretty robust auditory processing disorder). Or maybe the option of sliding a 20 under the door in exchange for a pdf. Perhaps someday!

This is an old birthday card! Inside says β€œsprinkles are better than wrinkles.” I’ve had it for years so it predates AI (but is certainly Photoshop or similar). Enjoy it with a clear conscience!

I dunno, seems I was constantly telling a ferret to kindly remove their snotlocker from my tea, if it wasn’t too much of an imposition

Although I will freely cry at animal-related content, human content doesn’t usually affect me. Except this made me ugly-cry this morning. What a treasure this man is. What a gift this performance is.

That sounds like a lot to take in, but maybe it’s a little reassuring to have a potential diagnosis? Here’s hoping any treatment regimen is relatively benign (I promise you will survive a low sodium diet, but it’s initially a real hassle).

We had 5 ferrets and 15 sleeping options. Ask me how often they all piled into the 2-butt hammock, random parts flopping out everywhere. A mustelid version of Sardines.

Oof. I love a cold night but can’t tolerate cold during the day anymoreβ€”can’t type with cold hands. Hope it gets fixed soon with minimal outlay of doubloons. Is Miss J earning her keep by serving as a lap warmer?

Immersion birdbath heaters for the chronically sleep-deprived among us!

Our smallest ferret used to nap in the inkjet printer, which didn’t do the jets any favors. Pretty sure this isn’t the problem with your printer though.

That sounds wretched. I seem to remember this happened before but not the resolution. Here’s hoping you are on the mend soon!

Ah yes, that was us last week with Highly Annoyed Nuthatch in the Skylight. Turns out the old Plastic Cup and Cardboard trick works for birds too - you just have to scale it up some.

I’m getting my RealID in a few weeks and you may have saved a life today. Different state, but no guarantee mine is any more flexible than yours. I will inundate them with paperwork!

It’s my favorite story collection and I dip into it frequently (not just for my beloved β€œThe Redoubtables”). I really hope we get another collection, maybe with β€œMore Tomorrow” - β€œFUCK YOUUUUUU DEVONIAN” gets shouted a lot round these here parts, gotta say.

Oh, that sounds interesting - will have a look for it. In return, may I offer β€œThe Intimate Desert” by Walter Collins O’Kane (1969)? Observations and encounters with desert wildlife and plants, plus charming illustrations.

So much to love in that update!

Fingers crossed! Tonight I learned I’m the proud grand-badger of a barred owl family. Knew the pair hung out in the big tree, but I just heard the babies for the first time! A nice antidote for the thousand baby starlings all day long.

Would you like some MORE pigeons? I will happily ship you a dozen or so band-taileds.

The t-shirts actually said β€œI Rode The SLUT.” We are all 12.

Pondering the idea of disasters and ER visits as β€œminor,” but glad to hear it wasn’t worse? Take care and get some rest!

It’s a terrible year for big leaf maple seedlings here. Think of all the little helicopters on the ground - and each one wants to become a tree. Any tiny amount of dirt will do. Sometimes more than one per square inch! In every flowerpot. Between deck boards. On the coir doormat!

The dark side of this is where you have a lot of things and you give them to your...not-friends. We had a Hyacinthoides hispanica problem. S dug up the biggest ones, potted them up and gave them to his enemies at work who thought they were pretty. He doesn't work there anymore but that's not why.

Nobody knows better than you that I can’t RPG at all, but I’m still buying it out of solidarity!

Waiting for my preorder to arrive! You are an automatic preorder for me and I know I’m not the only one

Dropping something into this void - hope it helps show there’s a real mammal here. Not much to say. Have been getting into exoplanets lately. Tried black holes but couldn’t get past relativity, my old nemesis. Might try paleoart next!
