Growing Healthy Places: Mississauga will scale and evaluate local approaches like these across 10 schools to learn what works and how to sustain change. The film shares examples of what’s possible through community-led solutions that could be adapted elsewhere.
8 80 Cities is a proud implementation partner on the Growing Healthy Places initiative in Mississauga that is bringing more support to schools and neighbourhoods to make it easier for children to be active and eat healthy.
More than 1 in 4 students in Peel Region, Canada, are affected by overweight or obesity because they lack access to nutritious food and opportunities to be active. In Mississauga, inspiring solutions already exist - turning underused spaces into play areas and supporting healthier eating.
