We have a well water softener which typically uses actual salt but, when available and on sale, I use Potassium Chloride instead, which is also better for the lawn than NaCl!

You have a 'desktop version' of an LMS? Do you mean an actual .exe or app? Or is there a difference between the web-version on your desktop and the 'app' for mobile?
Typically, an LMS won't work locally, especially if SCORM is involved, but there are certainly exceptions.

Growing up in Jersey suburbs in 70s-80s, mostly same, but those few friends whose parents did both work, they were pretty well-off (eg had a housekeeper).
