Birds in an autumn forest is a handmade paper collage by artist Karen Kaspar. The artwork shows three red birds sitting on slender branches of tall, slender trees. The tree trunks in dark brown tones stand out against the background in bright, warm autumn colors of yellow, orange and red. The autumn leaves are falling from the trees. The tree trunks and branches were painted on paper with acrylic paint and then mounted as a collage on the background painted with watercolors and combined with the watercolor birds. The autumn picture is minimalist and conveys a calm, warm and peaceful mood.

It's beautiful work. I'm still a rank neophyte with wood - still learning grains - characteristics of different woods and how to work with them, and joinery. I can't wait to get into finishes and stains.

That finish, though! It looks like it would be the kind of thing you want to touch - like chocolate, but for the hands.

I've always loved the starkness of the trees and the oblique angle the light comes in during the winter months.

Test fit, and first run of Cylon head tilting. Next steps: servo mounting for head turn (used a slew bearing with outside gear), mount cameras (@Adafruit Rpi5 M2 hat + Hailo), and scanning red eye).

Then print out final head model, smooth and paint, and start on shoulders!

Today is a boring day of QOL updates. Cleaning the office, Shop, and the power cart, ripping blurays to my server in the background. Cleaning up from the holiday. While boring its one of those things that creators never seem to post about. Without organization you never know where parts are!

I would love to see a bunch of musical artists and celebrities put on a nationally televised tribute concert for Pres. Jimmy Carter on inauguration day with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.
