Bowles isn't saying publicly how Godwin's doing, but he certainly knows how Godwin is doing. He sees him every day, talks to the trainers who are working with him. He just doesn't want to say anything publicly.

After winning the division in each of the past 4 seasons, the Bucs have everything they need to hang another NFC South banner in 2025.

Hey! I’ll certainly try to remember.
Just to be clear: Bucs didn’t sign Samaje Perine. I think the Bredeson contract went into NFLPA database and someone misread it as Perine. No signing.
Really would be surprised if they spent that much, but we'll see.
I forget we're in the heart of "worth as much as" season.
They have a lot of cap space, and were missing out on most of their top targets.

An hour into free agency, 31 of our top 100 free agents are off the board -- eight signing with new teams today, three more re-signing with their old teams. Updated list here: www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/...
There's that $20 million a year figure everyone laughed at ...
There's a big splash for Carolina:
Not sure on that one.

Not planning to be active during free agency
Unless that's a fourth year, I'd be surprised if a team offered $20 million more.
$11m should be near the top of the league for backup QBs.
Jalon Walker or Jihaad Campbell’s odds of becoming a Buccaneer just shot up
One of the top remaining free agent linebackers is off the board, as the Patriots are signing Raiders' Robert Spillane, per Rapsheet.
When we ranked the top 10 free agent running backs for this class, we had Elijah Mitchell at No. 10, even though he didn't play in 2024. Smart under-the-radar signing for Chiefs. www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/...
We'll get an update on Chris Godwin's recovery timeline when he's introduced on the new contract, but the Bucs guaranteed two years of salary without knowing if he'll be healthy and ready to play at the start of the 2025 season.
Cool, yes, but not a huge part of it.
It's worth mentioning that Bucs OLBs coach Larry Foote had Haason Reddick as a Cardinals assistant in 2017-18. Bruce Arians was his head coach in 2017, but I don't think that's as key a connection in the Bucs' signing.
We had new Bucs OLB Haason Reddick at No. 21 in our @nflonfox.bsky.social top 100 free agents -- here's what we said:
Bears' offensive line upgrade continues, while Atlanta loses its top free agent in the first hour of negotiating window.
What's key in the Bucs' deal with Chris Godwin is guaranteeing two years of salary. The total dollar value is about what we expected -- slightly more than his last deal ($60 million for three years) and slightly more than Mike Evans just got on a per-year basis.
I can confirm Haason Reddick to the Bucs on a one-year deal. Two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher gives Tampa Bay a much-needed boost to their defensive front opposite YaYa Diaby.
Huge start to free agency for Bucs, who are able to keep Chris Godwin on a new deal.
More on Haason Reddick, reportedly headed to the Bucs on a one-year, $14 million deal: he's 30, had four straight 10-sack seasons from 2020-23, had a lost year in 2024 after holding out with Jets. Bucs hope to get his 2022: 16 sacks, five forced fumbles as Eagles went to the Super Bowl.
Bucs make a splash and get a top-tier edge rusher …
Ok, folks. It’s noon. Off we go …
