idk if i could go back to education in good conscience now. ive helped trans students of mine as much as possible without compromising my job, which was hard enough at the time, it would be impossible now

the anti-trans stuff has obvs been creeping into education via non-statutory guidance for years but it feels particularly egregious for it to be in KCSiE. i (very naively) thought it was fairly resistant to the ideological whims of the sitting cabinet

KCSiE is a statutory document that everybody who works in education has to read every year. it's very comprehensive and pretty good as far as statutory guidance goes. it's not particularly useful day-to-day but it does directly inform school safeguarding policies

they put five pages about discouraging social transition and banning trans kids from using the right toilets/changing rooms into Keeping Children Safe In Education. i feel like the guy at the end of planet of the apes
