My initial reaction was literally (I texted this at 10:30 AM): “(Hopefully the Rooster has saved OSU from even considering bringing Gee back.)”

The woman at the center of Ted Carter's resignation has an LLC registered to WOSU's headquarters and created a single podcast featuring Ted Carter and JobsOhio chief PJ Nauseef that earned 137 YouTube views in two months.

This fool's spring is advancing too quickly! Go back buds, you're in danger! Nooo, tiny leaves, you're gonna freeze in a week!
DHS made a massive purchase of 2,500 new custom marked ICE vehicles that are now sitting in parking garages because nobody wants to use them: “ICE has never had marked vehicles. We don’t want to use these - we can’t.” www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/immig...
Good!
are the underlying cause of a lot of the mushifying. This plus the ubiquity of cell phones starting 2012-ish adds up to mush. 2/2
I've been very online for a very long time. I think there was a good period there where it sharpened rather than mushified brains, generally. I think I would put 2009-2010 as when the algorithms started to turn evil. And I think the evil algorithms and the many ways they have optimized outrage 1/
Lots of folks cling to the idea that this comes down to Biden's inability to "sell" these accomplishments. I'm sorry, though, that's pure cope. Whiny resentfulness toward Dems & cities is *constitutive* of the RW worldview today, not something that can be turned on & off with policy.
I see that as being inexorably linked though. The people with a lot of money, a lot of power, and a vested interest have (way too much) ability to sway public opinion in a way that serves them.
It's as simple as fossil fuel people who have money and who therefore have a lot of influence want to keep making money in that particular way, no?
But see the electorate contains so many Nazis and Dems have to appeal to them if we're gonna win
SHOULD THE U.S BLOT OUT THE SUN AND USHER IN AN AGE OF ETERNAL DARKNESS? - Gallup 2/20/26-3/5/26
NO - 41%
YES - 38%
UNSURE - 21%
A writer-director asked me for a meeting because they were worried I was going to derail their film's Oscar hopes. I didn't recant, the movie still got (way too many) Oscars.
Mark Proksch!
I liked Paula Pell on Girls 5 Eva but I feel like this is a great showcase for her and I've been so impressed. Already was a big fan of Keke Palmer, Jake Whitehall, and energy vampire (I can't remember his name).
I cannot wait. This is on my calendar, big, surrounded by sun rays. I put it there a while ago. Other people have Christmas, I have spring forward. (Okay I have Christmas too, but still.)
I used Mastodon first, then Bluesky, and found that Bluesky was closer to my OG Twitter experience, which is what I was going for. This was both in terms of usage and in terms of activity. I can believe it was bad luck, but I didn't like the Mastodon vibes. Curated Bluesky is pretty good.
Not even the close to the worst of it but such an eye-roll at "shopping with wives." Jennifer Ouellette is kick-ass in her own right.
Yeah buying that immediately.
Plus the obvious response to someone employing a distraction is to not be distracted. That means not paying attention to this "distraction," (Iran) and we absolutely need to pay attention to that!
Update: The analysis in my article this AM explored what would happen if you moved all voters toward the "Dems strong" and "moderate" sides equally. But a better counterfactual would account for the fact that many more voters see Dems as weak than extreme — so strength moves more voters. Here's that
Yeah, the "if" formulation doesn't cut it, here.
Henceforth, I will be describing the way that U.S. men’s hockey spectacularly squandered good will, brand recognition, and fan loyalty as “pulled a Target.”
They pulled a Target.
This is so true.
I love that!
God I hope so.
Seriously though. Let me add my thanks. Impeccable taste.
Interesting post about the coordinated anti-AOC smear campaign. It's 2016 again! Fake local news outlets on Facebook getting picked up until eventually it winds up in the Washington Post.
I feel like with AOC specifically out of all people, there is no escape from cursed remix and take out of context features, even if it's just screen recording. A good 20% of rightwing media is remixing her and taking her out of context (plus AI slop for good measure). Yes I'm making up 20% but a LOT
Generally you are awesome about access, but noting to please consider accessibility if you do this! (Podcasts for example tend to not be accessible for deaf people - they can be if there are always quick transcripts or if they have a YouTube element and can be watched with captions.)
