I am gonna try and participate this time 😭
This is what my implementation looks like, I basically do like a “spiral” where you can see a thin “slice” before/after the current options and as you spin they pop in and out. From folks playing they get it pretty quickly! By having filler slots you can use flicking (at the end) and muscle memory.
I do something like this in my game for “ring menus”, I was inspired by the Beyond Good and Evil text input menu. There’s a gotcha where if you want the menu to loop, you’ll have to add filler spaces if it’s not a multiple of how many items are visible otherwise menu items will shift each full loop.
We’re at PAX East with ItsyRealm! :) Check out our booth 18102 (Rat Skull Media) - it’s really really cool :)
So cool!!!!
Working on tutorial for my little video game! Cthulhu doesn’t like point blank cannons to the face fo’ sho’. The ship navigation and cannons feel and look so much better than before. With the upgraded lighting, shadows, outlines, and reflections this is coming along so well 😭
Love the staff/flail/lantern thing!! So cool
Doing a major graphics upgrade across the entire game, it looks sooooo good!!!!! Lots of tech upgrades like lighting shadows outlines and reflections!!! #indiegame
A town on fire with undead monsters roving around including a bird like plague doctor inspired creature
Working on a cool area in my video game called The Empty Ruins. Really has a Bloodborne vibe if you use a musket/blunderbuss as your weapon of choice. Full of creepy experiments and monstrosities made out of slain adventurers…
A dog-like mimic that imitates a fortress
good doggie 🥺 making a fortress mimic for my game that resembles a dog. you can climb it and mine the ores! the math to get the player positioned on the mimic was pretty complicated for a non-math nerd like me...
