👏 Hear hear, Ed Miliband! Good to see our Energy Secretary holding strong to the government's commitment on no new oil and gas licences.
In an unstable world, we must keep driving towards clean, home-grown renewable power to ensure true energy security!

📝 The UK Government has signed into law the restriction on lead in ammunition.
👏 We welcome the first UK REACH restriction finally reaching the statute book.

Last year's @copernicusmarine.bsky.social Ocean State Report showed record ocean heat, sea-level rise, and acidification, revealing a planet under mounting stress.
These trends, tied to climate change, pollution & biodiversity loss, threaten marine life and the ocean’s role in climate stability.
South East Water has been warned repeatedly by regulators, over a period of 4 years, that it was at risk of supply failure & needed to act to protect water resources in order to keep the taps on.

Interesting, so they'd been buying into the 'any day now we're going to solve the leaks problem' narrative. Let's hope we see positives coming out of this.
Congratulations to Sempra for being able to do simple math!
"Mexico’s potential LNG export buildout has shrunk by about 0.5 Bcf/d after Sempra ended development plans for its long-proposed Vista Pacifico project."
There is no market demand for these projects. And not enough future supply gas.
The important point from @sebkennedy.bsky.social
“The idea that you can cost-effectively decarbonise your economies by relying on a commodity that, in the space of 5 years, is subject to two illegal wars that send prices stratospheric, it just doesn’t make any sense”
Solar makes sense.
Interesting, curious to know, which information seemed to hit home the most?

@txsharon.bsky.social just got back from the EU where she met with EU politicians to educate them on the emissions and economic realities of US LNG.
It got their attention. And current nat gas prices in the EU are likely helping it sink in.
