It actually fits perfectly inside this old NES rental case haha, not a bad way to cart it around in a bag so it doesn't get banged up

I only wish I'd sprung for a bigger model in this line; it was hard to tell from product photos but the RG35XX+ is actually a bit smaller than a Game Boy Pocket!
Just got the RG35XX and the stock OS has been a little squirrelly about making any changes; I added LSDJ to its GB emulator and adding a SAV did something where the system wouldn't boot until I deleted it. But this worked just fine
Hell yeah, thanks!
there are a ton of Reddit threads on this; figured I would ask someone who's actually done it!
Hey if you don't mind some more annoying questions; what path did you use to install LGPT directly on your Anbernic? Did you install GarlicOS?
This one only has MIDI in/out and audio out so I have to update via SD card too. Looks like the PicoTracker Advance has line in though
One of the few use cases for LLMs I can kinda see is prepping for job interviews, like practicing getting blindsided by questions you didn't write yourself. But then coworkers will ask it tech questions instead of consulting the actual manual and it's like shit, glad you're not a doctor
It's a shock every time when some coworker or friend casually lets on that they've been consulting AI for basically everything for like a year now and also refer to it as being sentient. I have to watch what I say about it or it REALLY hurts people's feelings. Invasion of the Body Snatchers shit.
As opposed to LSDJ where samples are just kind of a little treat on top of mostly using synthesis (the way I use it anyway)
I just got a PicoTracker which runs a custom build of LGPT on dedicated hardware and I don't love it yet. The thing I run into with fully sample based trackers is being annoyed at always needing to go back and forth to find/make samples and then import them
What handheld is that? Are you running LGPT in a PSP emulator on it?
Yeah; I listen to my own stuff a lot to try to figure out what works, what doesn't, extrapolate how it might be interpreted under different conditions etc. But then playing it back to other people can be excruciating and I have to stop myself from doing like a DVD commentary track to it
Sure! Thank you
Got MIDI out of PicoTracker working and started experimenting, but then the ProVS Mini was dropping MIDI notes left and right, as if the cosmos was reminding me of my conviction that I'd rather actually get shit done than be "authentic". Think my synthwave aspirations might stay in my DAW for now
Ha nice, thanks!
Ope it was just a bad TRS-MIDI cable
whoops that last sentence got a little wrapped around the axle. you know what I meant
It would be cool to see more of a practical reaction to the recent mainstreaming of the understanding that every institution on earth is controlled by 100 demonic pedophile billionaires, like for instance putting less than 99.8% of all music/art/event info somewhere besides Instagram
There's not even a dedicated subreddit for this thing
My two lingering issues so far: 1. can't get MIDI out to drum machine (not a dealbreaker but it would be cool if that worked) and 2. some samples inexplicably randomly give an "unsupported file format" despite being WAV like all other samples
Picotracker
Found a used pre-assembled Picotracker (wanted to see if I actually vibe with it before committing to building my own) and it's cool, but any problem with LSDJ I ever had, it was easy to find someone who'd solved it. Picotracker seems to be solely used by this one German guy on YouTube
Two as-yet empty aftermarket Game Boy shells, clear blue and opaque purple
Built and hung up two ceiling clouds in the little one-room recording studio I'm setting up. Hoping to do a 3rd one but this ceiling is even more shoddy and DIY than my work. Anyway hit me up if you're in the PNW and want to make a grimy DIY recording (it doesn't actually have to be grimy)
It seems like the trash has largely taken itself out of this scene compared to 2016 but just in case: fuck ICE, fuck Trump, Black lives matter, fuck the patriarchy, trans liberation now, smash capitalism, fuck AI, and fuck you if you don't like it
is there a chiptune starter pack? tracking down everyone to re-follow is exhausting
