It's ON!
It's ON!
As you may have noticed, the iron man will be at the same weekend again - accommodation is much more scarce for that reason.
We have put together a small section on this year's website that can help you find a place to stay:
zfoh.ch/zurihac2026/...
We think ZuriHac is one of the best places to recruit talented engineers. In case this interests you, please get in touch with us at zfoh.ch#donations.
ZuriHac is free for participants. This is only possible with the help of our generous supporters, who are currently:
- The Haskell Foundation
- Jane Street
- OST
- Tweag by Modus Create
- Well-Typed
ZuriHac also welcomes beginners or people unfamiliar to Haskell who are curious to learn more. There will be an organized beginnersโ track, as well as many mentors from the Haskell community happy to answer all your questions.
For an idea of what to expect, have a look at last yearโs schedule on zfoh.ch/zurihac2025
This yearโs keynote speakers include Simon Peyton Jones (one of the designers of the Haskell language), Evan Czaplicki (author of the Elm language) and Garrick Chin (author of the game โDefect Processโ). Further keynote speaker and track announcements will be made on our website.
ZuriHac is not your standard conference with papers and presentations, but features fantastic keynotes, hands-on tracks, hacking on many of your favourite projects, and of course lots of socializing!
ZuriHac 2026 - Registrations are open!
ZuriHac is the biggest Haskell community event in the world: a completely free, three-day grassroots coding festival co-organized by the Zรผrich Friends of Haskell and the OST Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Science.

We will start soon with Lennartโs keynote in the Aula.
After the keynote, weโll have an opening presentation with some practical info followed by project pitches (no need to sign up for the latter, weโll improvise)
We're excited to be sponsoring @zurihac.bsky.social '25 again this year! Meet our team at ZuriHac and the preceding Haskell workshop events.
And don't forget to join our very own Cheng Shao in the WASM Track!

Andres will be instructing our Beginner's track this year.

Greetings ZuriHackers!
Do you have a project you want to work on during ZuriHac? Now is a great time to get some contributors on board!
Do you not have a project yet? Then perhaps you want to have a look to get an idea about what others are working on!
Unfortunately that's another thing that we are not going have resources for. There will however be recordings about one to two weeks after the event.
zurihac 2025 Meet our Speakers Sandy Maguire Sandy is a prolific Haskell developer with strong opinions on Doing Functional Programming Right. He is the author of the books โThinking with Typesโ, โAlgebra Driven Designโ and the โpolysemyโ library.
Meet our speakers:
Sandy Maguire
Also please excuse the wait.
We will also ask for attendees who feel sick to stay at home.
We generally expect that at an event with a great community like ours, people will act responsibly.
(three replies b/c character limit)
However, as always we will recommend to wear a mask in situations with increased infection risk like the opening talk or in crowded workshop rooms.
We will also provide some FFP2 masks for these situations.
There's a ventilation system in rooms that do not have windows, most notably, the aula. Other than that, there are no other dedicated facilities like air purifiers on the venue.
Unfortunately we do not have the resources to enforce any COVID and general infection protection rules for attendees.
Zurihac 2025 Meet our Speakers Lennart Augustsson Lennart works at Epic Games and was previously a lecturer at Chalmers University of Technology. Very likely, he holds the world record for the most Haskell compiler implementations. (there's also a somewhat derpy photograph of Lennart, left of his job description)
