Working for a government agency that is constantly yelling at us about "meeting the moment" during a period where every day there are fresh new hells to deal with has been weighing on me extra hard lately. I am so exhausted.

It is a new week, and why not punch the Monday Blues in the dang face by devoting your heart and mind to my extremely queer trans-centric Portland magical girl novels? There is so much fun monster fighting and lesbian happenings and big emotions contained within these pages. magicariot.com/buy
For the evening crowd - why not check out my new story up at Nightmare Magazine? Itβs got monsters, civil servants, and dogs.
I have figured out the plot twist to this book as of three chapters ago, and now I'm just finishing it because I'm already so close to the ending.
Maybe I just need to re-read The Ritual? I don't know what kind of horror my brain is craving, but I must find it.
I've written up a brief script for anyone who wants to call or write your representatives regarding this bill (yes, even the ones you think won't care). PLEASE DO THIS IF YOU ARE ABLE. This bill *cannot* pass.
You can find your representatives here: www.congress.gov/members/find...
This was prompted by a haunted house book, but it's so applicable to so many books I read haha.
Burn it down.
Thought I'd start off my profile with a little #meettheartist graphic! I hope y'all like it! It features stuff that's coming out real soon. π₯°

I swear, so many plots to horror books could be solved by people just lighting things on fire and yet THEY NEVER DO. Haunted house? Light it on fire. Source of power for a witch? Light it on fire.
This is one thing I very much respect about Supernatural haha.

βIt was the voice of a preacher, a voice of the past, a voice for cathedrals, a voice from a time before microphones. It was a voice that denounced witches and flogged sinners. It was a voice that sang Latin while women burned at the stake and men were crushed beneath stones.β - HorrorstΓΆr

OMG NO that's terrifying hahaha. As if being in a quiet basement all alone isn't bad enough.
Listening to the audio version of HorrorstΓΆr by Grady Hendrix while being the only one in the office may have been a terrible choice. I am so unsettled right now. π

Bookish people of BlueSky, I am pondering getting a Kobo. Specifically one I can annotate on. Do you own one? Do you like it? Where do you source books?
Thank you in advance for your time! ππ
Post from Art Director Bill Robinson on LinkedIn saying: Welp, it finally happened. I was hired to work on a MAJOR live action Hollywood film (and I mean itβs one of the biggest anticipated films of the year). They needed a small animated sequence and wanted a character designer. I was handed a ChatGPT image and told βmake it differentβ. I did - I spent hours finessing the design into something better and more specific for the character in the film. Waited a week for notes - then was told they got clearance from legal to use the original AI image instead. No need for any further work. This is what the director wanted. What are we doing as a society? Whatβs the endgame here? Replace every human until we are all homeless? I just donβt get it. If a major Hollywood film with a huge budget doesnβt see the need to work with real artists, is there any hope left?
Dude regularly works for Disney, DreamWorks, Netflix and CN so speculate away. But this sucks no matter which studio is doing it, and gross to think some major movie this year is running with a plagiarized image from ChatGPT.

Today is the kind of day where I just need to go home and bury my face in my dog's neck while hugging her, because ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
