I think it might have to go to Peter F Hamilton.
I know he doesn't quite have as universal acclaim as other authors but The Reality Dysfuncion blew me away, it was an amazing read after I almost gave up on it for it's extremely slow start, the trilogy is outstanding.

When I was a kid, I have very fond memories of "Only you can save mankind, if not you who else?" By Terry Pratchett, I think being my top pick, but I read so much..Douglas Adams and Arthur C Clarke are my favourite authors from back then, 2001 and HHGTTG <3 ..As an adult tho 1/2

(I say this because trying to reinforce her on looks and fitness is all I can do atm, being able to show her she's shifting from fat to muscle in weight distribution while also losing weight will hopefully boost her confidence more, she's doing this for herself, I just wanna help her be happy)
So many miss this part, the important bit!
Keep having to remind my gf of the same thing, she's been doing really well, losing weight slowly&going to the gym, getting stronger, but struggles to acknowledge weight gain from muscle, imma pick up some new scales that do body fat to try help encourage:)
I genuinely hope the eventual enshittification is a slow roll, I actually kinda like this place.

Yeah.. I'm very scientifically inclined, so UFO, Ghost, Religion, FlatEarth, all that kinda fits in the same boat to me.
As a piece of fiction and fancy though.. Sci-Fi is my fave genre, and watching UFO shows can be fun for me, I love ancient lore and history, so a firm appreciation for that stuff!
I'm very much on the 'rational side' of this, but fill your boots! Just....stay grounded, though it sounds like your natural inclination is to be grounded.
Genuinely, have fun, don't worry too much about other peoples judgements, enjoy your life and explore what you wanna explore, just stay safe :)
