I think we often underestimate how little a significant proportion of the public pays attention to current events or has any grasp on details of such.
I would suspect what they insinuate Starmer should do and what they’d actually do if they were in his shoes are two very different things. For the RW machine they’re part of, there’s no limit on what they’ll use as a stick to beat the opposition with.
Unless they can find a way to overturn pre-emptive presidential pardons, ‘moving on’ is the only option.
